Working in the traditional Oaxacan art form called barro negro or 'black clay', Fernando and Magali Pedro create this lovely decorative ceramic vase. The dark color and slightly metallic sheen are achieved by polishing the clay's surface with a quartz stone or piece of obsidian before the cross is fired in the kiln.
